Do not disturb

I have set up do not disturb to allow only favorite contacts to be able to bypass the Do Not Disturb mode whether call or text. For some reason dnd is allowing all texts to come through. I am not sure why this is happening. I have used do not disturb on all my other phones I have never had an issue of texts coming through that weren't on the authorized favorite list. Has anyone else had this issue?
