Question S25+, Cannot "SELECT" Text To Copy In TEXT MESSAGING.

Migrated from S9 to S25+.

When viewing a text message, if I PRESS & HOLD an area of the text message, an EMOJI bar pops up. I am unable to SELECT specific text in the text message.

I don't need the emoji bar, and I know how to copy the ENTIRE message to the clipboard. So how can I select specific text in a text message?

Pressing and holding to select text seems to work in all other apps such as my browser. Just not in text messaging.

Are you using Google Messages? If so, when you long-press a message, look at the top of the screen on the right -- you should see a Copy icon (two rectangles on top of each other), a trash can, and a star.

I think they're asking about how to "select specific text (inside) a text message?" to copy. I haven't been able to do that either, in Google Messages; have only been able copy entire text message - to clipboard. Same as the OP.

Ah, you're right. I missed the OP's mention that they already know how to copy the entire message.

I think all you can do is copy the whole message, paste it, then edit it to include only what you want.

The S25 comes with Google Messages preinstalled as the default texting app. So unless you installed Samsung Messages from the Play Store or Galaxy Store, or some other 3rd party texting app, you're using Google Messages.
