News Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC surfaces in new Galaxy S25 spec leak

But WHY? There are already reports of the new Elite SOC having an issue with overheating, and Samsung is NOT known for their cooling features. This new SOC is already way, way more than ANY cell phone could ever need/use so why overclock it at all? Will overclocking not just lead to too much heat and more battery use than necessary? Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!

Yes I heard about the overheating on the snap dragon 8 Elite chip , but Samsung does have a pretty good cooling vapor chamber and the s25 is supposed to be 30-45 % better in this compared to last year's.

Well OK, that's good that they have adequate cooling... but it still begs the question... WHY?
What advantage, other than bragging rights on bench marks, does overclocking bring to the daily function of the phone? The SOC's in use two, or three years ago were, and still are, overkill for 99.9% of anything being done on a cell phone! It's just change for change sake and "because" we can do it so we do it! SMH

I'm assuming over clocking can aid in some instances like demanding tasks but shouldn't be for everything you do on the device.
