The 13 has a flat screen! That alone makes it worth the wait on top of all the other upgrades you get! But they need to release them to the USA before the spend-o-thon ends in a few weeks! To release it after the holidays is just plain stupid. YMMV

The article says that it is a "single 6000mAh cell" but if you look at a teardown, it is two 3000mAh cells connected together.

Funny how you talk about price and both your Amazon and Best Buy links for the 12 show a dramatic price hike lol.
I didn't wait and got the 512GB OnePlus 12 from Best Buy for $750 a few weeks ago. Now them and Amazon have it priced at $899. The OnePlus store had it for $750 w/a gift at the time and currently has it for $650 right now but buying it with PayPal Pay in 4 doesn't work with them for some reason even though it clearly says it's available so I didn't go that route unfortunately.
As far as the 13, it has a flat screen which I wish the 12 had. This curved screen sucks. The back design of the 12 is definitely better than the 13's though.
