One day before leaving on a 5-week trip my pixel 7 Pro screen went black, rendering the phone useless except I could still receive calls with my headset.

I NEED my phone everyday for business.

What is the best way to be prepared to continue full functionality on another phone when this happens?

For example, with my laptop, if it dies, I could boot up another laptop I own or buy, and be back in business within an hour, to install, a few apps and updates etc. My cloud has all my data.

Is there a way to get the same results if/when my cell phone dies? So I can send and receive texts, make and receive calls, access wifi, contacts, Outlook Exchange mailbox, and everything else?

You can backup your Android phone's data to the cloud with Google One and reinstall it onto another Android device (Info HERE).

If you use a physical SIM from your provider, you should be able to quickly swap it out to your new phone. Although I can't do it with my provider, in some cases you can also quickly transfer an eSIM between phones (info HERE).

I bought a Pixel 3 for this very reason as a backup.
So you would move your sim card to the pixel 3 and be up and running?
I don't really know what gets transferred with a SIM card other than phone and text service.
Do you get your contacts, calendar, and recent texts and calls?

All of my contacts are saved in only one place, Outlook Exchange. Does anyone know how I can get those contacts to be recognized by my phone, my texts, The contacts app, and Gmail.
Thank you
