Android Auto Coolwalk not working despite upgrade.

I have the Moto Ma1 also, but don't use it. Seemed to consume way too much battery on long trips. It works great, otherwise. With the USB-C cable I have a trickle charge while using.
Hmm I never been on long trips so can't comment on that but works flawlessly for20 minute commute everyday to work and home

I played around with it some more just a bit ago, and it all seems a bit odd to me. Seems I can only ever have an app in full screen mode, or if in split screen mode then only the google maps app will ever be in the "main" panel closest to driver (I am NA, driver on left). For the "secondary" panels (for me over off to the right), seems I can now only ever have the "for you music suggestion widget/app" (which I have no idea where that came from or how to disable it ) or VLC, and I can basically scroll left/right between those two there in that secondary panel. Interesting, I could have sworn that when I first got the new AA look, I had the "for you" thingy at top right and my VLC at bottom right (that is, two secondary panels). That I would have preferred vs having to scroll between available secondary apps in a single secondary app panel (when in split screen mode). I wonder if things are dependent on what is implemented in each individual app in terms of AA compatibility, for where (for example) the phone may or may not be able to serve those up as basically remote widgets into what each different AA head unit also has for capabilities. My head unit's base widget capabilities for example (regardless of AA or Apple Car Play for phone projection), seems to only have a similar three split screen/panel landscape arrangement (main at left near driver, secondary top right and secondary bottom right). I assume the base vehicle head unit arrangement for @mustang7757, for example, might be portrait.

Mine looks mainly like that, and with the "all apps matrix icon" at bottom left with the mic and then with four "recent apps icons" bottom centre (horizontal landscape bottom row, not a vertical portrait row at left).

I received the new update last Monday and it's working good so far. I like the new layout. Jeep Cherokee w/ U Connect & Pixel 7.

Yup I agree. Using Uconnect in my Jeep Cherokee TrailHawk.

According to a YouTube video, in one of the betas there was a setting for the recent apps bar of icons to be either horizontal on bottom or vertical, at left or right depending on if driver setting was set as left or right. I guess maybe only fixed horizontal made it into the final non beta release? I do not have the setting to switch between horizontal and vertical, the setting that I saw about that in one of the beta videos.

Having now used it a bit more post update and with also a few calls and SMS/texts, I have now seen the secondary panels when in split screen mode being used a bit more. That makes me a bit more comfortable with how they did those areas, vs only just putting the "for you" there, and it seems to all work pretty good (although it seems they want the driver/user to just let google/AA figure out how to best do and layout things, as opposed to also some more available configuration settings for preferences, probably all part of not wanting to let a user/driver potentially setup something that could be judged as "overly distracting for driving"). Would still love to be able to get rid of the "for you". Haven't yet figured out if there is an AA or an Assistant setting controlling that.

So my phone last night updated AA to 8.7.63 and I got excited thinking I would have coolwalk today but I am still old school. What build number do you have to have to get it?

I'm on 8.763

Now working on my car. AA updates this morning. Strangely, as above, it appeared in my wife's car with the last update a week or so ago .

I think the earlier suggestion was that it may not immediately appear in the vehicle, regardless of if the required AA update for the phone is already in place.

I guess I'll give it a few days and see what happens.

Agreed. Mine started working on the way home tonight even though I got the update yesterday morning. Odd. And I agree. It's frustrating that only Google works in both full screen and when it's in the card on the right but Waze, which is owned by Google, doesn't.
