eSim Questions

I have two identical phones. The second is for emergency. They are setup just alike. I have Wi-Fi.

Only the primary has a SIM card. The second can connect to Wi-Fi to email and access the Internet and send documents. I can't call out text without a SIM card.

I'm trying to learn about eSim cards. I found under settings...eSim info and a QR code.

I read a little about scanning that QR code to activate it, I guess scan it by the backup phone. My Verizon plan has unlimited call and data.

If anyone can help, or refer me to a video of how I might have my second phone where I can use it to call with, without transferring the SIM card over, is appreciate it

The reason for asking is, I'm in good health and walk two miles a day, walk , drive, etc..... But, I did have a stroke in the past. I just really feel like a phone IS really a lifeline to me. I'd like to have access to the backup ASAP in a crisis and not waste time with trying to transfer any card over.
