Hello all,

A close relative has passed and I have been given his phone. I beg you to take pity on this ignorant soul but I can't edit the most simple configuration changes:

1) I want to turn off the voice mail completely. I don't want to offer the caller the option to leave a message. I want them to talk to me or if I'm not available .... call back. The solution eludes me.

2) When texting, I want every single new incoming text to sound an alert. As it is, I get one alert at the start of the thread and then for the life of the thread, I don't get any more alerts. The solution eludes me.


Any pointers appreciated. Maybe, just maybe I need to downgrade to something a little less "modern"?

For the texting notification issue, is this only when you have the texting app open? Or does that happen even when you're on the homescreen or in some other app? And which texting app are you using -- Samsung Messages, Google Messages, or something else?
