Samsung Galaxy S23, One UI v7.0, Android v15...

How do I turn off notifications from the native phone app? The toggle is greyed out.

I don't want to see the "missed calls" notifications. I'm trying to use Hiya exclusively.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Welcome to Android Central! I don't believe that's possible, since the Phone app is considered essential. You should be able to change the notification tone for Missed Calls to None or Silent, though.

How big of a popup is it? Under the Phone settings, do you see an option for "Allow full-screen notifications"? If so, can you toggle that off?

Not full screen, but large enough that it's annoying and in the way. All it takes is for me to swipe it away, but I was hoping there would be a way to stop them from happening.

Ok, try this: in the Phone settings (in Settings>Apps), select Missed Calls in the Notification Categories, and tap Lock Screen. Change that to "Don't show notifications at all." I believe that will only be for that specific app's notification category, not for all apps in general.

Let me know if you have any problem finding that Notification Category.

Doesn't look like I have that option.

Hmm, interesting. I have that option for Google's Phone app on my Pixel 9 Pro XL, so I guess this is a limitation of Samsung's Phone app, or One UI, or both?

No, to turn off the lockscreen notification for missed calls. I'm able to drill down to a "Lock screen" option under the Missed Calls notification category, and change that from Show All Notification Content to Don't Show Notifications At All -- I believe this would only affect those Missed Calls lockscreen notifications, and not anything else.

Unfortunately, I no longer have a Samsung phone to test with -- only a Samsung tablet.

Oh wait, hang on a second -- my Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ does have the Samsung Phone app, and I can access that menu. This is what I see if I tap the words Missed Call in the Notification Categories menu:

You can see the option for Lock Screen, which then gives these options:

You don't get that?

The toggle is greyed out, but you can still tap the words. Your last screenshot shows the Lock Screen option -- you can tap that and change it from Show Sensitive Content to Don't Show Notifications At All. This is for lockscreen notifications only.
