Recovering files from busted tablet

I cracked the screen on my Galaxy Tab S5E, no big deal since it's been approaching obsolescence. I had some important files on there however I need to get at. I can access files plugging it into my PC, however the files I need are in a .directory and Windows is incapable of viewing .directories. I tried ADB to get at the files but it doesn't seem to recognize my tablet when it's plugged in, I must not have developer mode enabled. Is there any other software out there that will allow me to see hidden directories on the tablet? Hoping there's some other option outside of getting an HDMI to USB C adapter and crossing my fingers that touch screen still works. Even then it will be difficult getting at those files.

If Windows can see files when the tablet is connected, it should be able to 'see' any kind of file/directory. Just make sure to enable the "Show hidden files" option in Windows' Explorer.
This is only for Win file system files with +h attribute, it is not able to recognize hidden files in an Android file system.
